يقوم الممارس خلال مرحلة نقاط التسلسل الرئيسية بتعليم المستفيد كيفية الربت على عدد من نقاط الربت بترتيب معين. ومرة أخرى نقول أنه من المستحب أن يشجع الممارس المستفيد أن يقوم بالربت على نفسه، لكن إن لم يكن المستفيد قادراً على فعل هذا (أو ربما لا يرغب) فربت الممارس على المستفيد يعطي النتيجة المرجوة نفسها ولا بأس. حتى عندما يقوم المستفيد بالربت على نفسه، يستحب للممارس أن يقوم بالربت على نفسه مع المستفيد لكن بنية الربت على المستفيد.

ويتم الربت بشكل لطيف وخفيف بأي من اليدين وباستخدام إصبعي السبابة والوسطى معاً. ويتم الربت على كل نقطة سبع مرات، ويقوم المستفيد بتكرار عبارة التذكير reminder phrase خلال عملية الربت وبصوت عالٍ. وتشتق عبارة التذكير هذه من الجزء الأوسط من عبارة الإثبات، ويجب أن تكون معبرة وقصيرة. ولو أخذنا المثال الذي ذكرناه آنفاً عن صداع الشقيقة، فستكون العبارة التذكيرية "صداع قاتل". ويكمن الهدف من استخدام عبارة التذكير هذه خلال جولة الربت هو إبقاء المشكلة التي هي قيد التطبيق حاضرة في الذهن خلال فترة العلاج. ولهذا السبب، يفضل أن يتم قراءة العبارة التذكيرية بصوت عالٍ، ونلفت الانتباه هنا إلى أنه يمكن تطبيق الأساليب اللفظية الأخرى التي ذكرناها سابقاً في حال لم يرد المستفيد التلفظ بالكلمات بصوت عالٍ. وكما سبق وقلنا عن عبارة الإثبات أنها سلبية، كذلك تكون العبارة التذكيرية سلبية أيضاً، حيث إن الهدف منها هو التركيز على المشكلة الحاضرة، ويجب ألا تؤخذ العبارة على أساس أنها "ستزيد في غرس المشكلة"، فالمشكلة موجودة أصلاً. قد تكون مثل هذه العبارة مسألة غير مقبولة في العلاجات الأخرى، لكنها في سياق تقنية الحرية النفسية EFT فهي مسألة مفيدة وتركز على المشكلة في أثناء جولة الربت.

فيما يلي نجد نقاط الربت، وهي موضحة بالرسم في نهاية هذا الفصل:



































النقطة الأخيرة هي "نقطة ضربة الكاراتيه" والتي يمكن استخدامها عوضاً عن "نقطة الألم" عند تكرار عبارة الإثبات.

ويجدر الذكر هنا أن نقطة إصبع البنصر(إصبع الخاتم) لا تستخدم عادةً لأن موقعها الأصلي في الطرف المقابل من الإصبع مما يجعل الوصول إلى تلك النقطة أمراً صعباً من دون الإخلال بتوازن عملية الربت. ولكن لا يوجد أي ضرر من استخدام هذه النقطة ومعظم الممارسين يستخدمونها للسهولة. ويتم الربت على هذا المسار (مسار الطاقة الثلاثي) في المرحلة التالية عندما يتم التعامل مع نقطة الجاموت.

وتتوافق نقاط الربت هذه مع المسارات المختلفة في الجسم، وللقارئ العارف بمواقع نقاط الوخز بالإبر (ومن أجل تعريف النقاط بشكل محدد) فإن هذا الجدول هذا يعطي نقاط تقنية الحرية النفسية وما يعادلها في العلاج بالوخز بالإبر. ويجدر بالذكر هنا أن النقاط الثلاثة الأخيرة ليست مستخدمة في الجولة الأساسية للربت في تقنية الحرية النفسية، وسوف يتم مناقشتها لاحقاً؛ وأضيفت إلى هنا لإكمال البيانات فحسب. ونلاحظ من البيانات المتوفرة لنا حتى الآن أن تقنية الحرية النفسية تتضمن الربت على جميع المسارات، ما عدا مسار الكبد، فقد تم حذف هذا المسار من الجولة الأساسية لتقنية الحرية النفسية، إلا أن بعض الممارسين يطبقونه عن طريق الربت على مسار الكبد (14) والواقع تحت الصدر، وسوف يناقش هذا الأمر بشكل موسع في الفصل الخامس.




















إن الهدف من وراء استخدام إصبعين في عملية الربت يعني أنه ليس من الضروري معرفة مكان النقطة بالتحديد إذ إن المساحة التي يغطيها الربت بإصبعين تضمن أنك قمت بإصابة الهدف والتأثير في النقطة.

و لاحظ أن عملية الربت تحرك الأصابع على شكل علامة الاستفهام "؟" على الوجه، ثم نكمل إلى باقي الجسم. ويطلق على نقطة الترقوة المستخدمة في الربت "نقطة طرزان"، ونقطة تحت الذراع تسمى "القرد"، ولقد تم وضع هذه التسميات لتسهيل حفظ أماكن النقاط. وكما ذكرنا سابقاً، يمكن الربت باستخدام أي من اليدين وعلى أي جهة من الجسم، وفي حالة الربت المزدوج، لا يوجد ما يمنع الشخص من تبديل اليد أو الجهة.
