قرر أحد الفتيان أن يتعلم (الجودو) - والجودو فن من فنون الدفاع عن النفس – وقد رغب هذا الفتى أن يتعلمه ليقهر الواقع الذي يعيشه وهو فقدان ذراعه الأيسر إثر حادث مروري مروع .

بدأ الفتى دروسه الأولى في الجودو على يد مدرب ياباني . كان أداء الفتى جيدا رغم إعاقته , ولكنه لم يستطع فهم المدرب الذي استمر طيلة الوقت يعلمه حركه واحدة فقط .

فسأل مدربه عن هذا الأمر إلا أن المدرب لم يجبه . لم يفهم الفتى ذلك المدرب ولكنه كان مؤمنا بقدراته .

وبعد عدة شهور أخذ المدرب الفتى لبطولة قوية كي يشارك فيها , وفاجأ الفتى نفسه عندما فاز في أو مباريتين بكل سهولة . وكانت الثالثة صعبة نوعا ما ولكنه تمكن أخيرا من الفوز ووصل إلى المباراة النهائية حيث كان الخصم أقوى وأكبر . فبدت على الفتى علامات القلق والخوف . ولقلق الحكام أوقفوا المباراة لخشيتهم من أن يتأذى الفتى , وخصوصا أنه معاق وأصغر سنا وأقل خبرة من خصمه .

ولكن المدرب اعترض وأصر أن يكمل الفتى مباراته تلك .

استهان الخصم العملاق بالفتى فبدرت منه أخطاء متعددة مكنت الفتى من تطبيق الحركة الوحيدة التي تعلمها من مدربه . وفاز الفتى على خصمه وحقق البطولة .

وفي طريق العودة سأل الفتى مدربه كيف تمكنت من الحصول على البطولة بحركة واحدة فقط, وخصوصا مع فقداني يدي اليسرى . اجاب المدرب أخيرا : لقد فزت لسببين : السبب الأول : أنك أتقنت أصعب حركة هجومية في الجودو . والسبب الثاني : أن الحركة الوحيدة المعروفة لصد تلك الهجمة هي أن يثبت الخصم يدك اليسرى !!

أعظم نقطة ضعف لدى الفتى أصبحت أعظم نقطة قوة .
